    Today we all went for a nice walk through town & to the queens gardens with Poppy who the kids are dog sitting for a few weeks. Was great fun watching Poppy & the kids on a sunny winters day. Tomorrow for brunch at the hospice we are making a treat with another nurse of waffles (maybe) depends on one child having enough energy or not. Her thyroid makes her so tired. :-( I’m not really to bothered I’d rather her rest, I know what it’s like.

    Scooter looks flash with its name on the front & it’s first goodbye pork pie flag of Punakiki! Have a nice weekend all, lots of love Pip & family x

    Just when I was having a tough few days out of fluke I was leaving the building for a ride when my lovely friend turned up. I put her through her paces keeping up on a power walk - hee hee. Loved seeing you this arvo 💓 your always a goodie to talk too & cheer me up girl friend 🤗 We haven’t had a walk together in years I reckon. Love the crazy pic u took x

  • Naming ceremony!

    Tomorrow the staff are wearing yellow to match my scooters colour & we have been running a name competition for the staff, I have chosen the winning name & all will be reveled tomorrow! Also I will be getting a transfer from Andrew Healey signs who is generously supplying it at no charge, so kind! So watch this space 🛵 We (myself & staff) are having a fish n chip lunch & it’s my job to go down & pick the order up, yom!

    So a big day tomorrow gotta be on form, hope your all well 💜

    Went out with the family today & poppy the dog for the scooters first Maiden voyage! Such a nice machine to ride 🛵💜 goes pretty fast too🤫.

    Thank you everybody for helping me get the wonderful scooter from access mobility sooner than I thought I would, this means I have two months left to still gather donations for the hospice to help them with their new build. Thanks to access mobility for their support & special modifications to fit the oxygen holder extra. The hospice scooter I was using can now go to a new patients home earlier than expected & also they don’t need to buy one. I hope to be out on the scooter soon after my two more days of iv steriod days left this week. Thank you all once again :-)

    Yippee my last day for iv steriods this week, needed a new line on the last day grrrr! Ouchies 💉

    I’ve had a horrible headache for the last week which is finally going, it’s so nice to move without pain. Hope everyone with kids are enjoying their school holz in the nice weather. Only 5 more days until the new scooter hopefully the money comes through then yay.🛵🤗keep those Hospice donations coming in though for another 2 months😉x

  • Help the Nelson Tasman Hospice too!

    You may take a glance at the total & think I’ve made it but I still do need more donations due to the fees for givealittle being -5% & also I won’t get any of your donations until the 25th April which will include March’s donations from you so it’s a hard waiting game! If it goes over my total amount, Nelson Tasman Hospice will be the recipient of the left over donations😆 which will be on the following month between the 20th-25th. They will be most greatful 🤪

    Went to see Chris @ access mobility today, he was fantastic in helping me with my first scooter shopping trip. We tried a few scooters out & have a scooter in mind which will do just nicely what I want it too ☺️ Can’t wait now until mid April to see if it’s all go. (That’s when givealittle make the first payment) Chris @ Access mobility has said he wants to help so hospice get a nice donation towards their new building in Stoke. Thanks Chris I can’t wait to be back your way soon! Pip ☺️

    Almost there after month 1, I took the donations out for 3 months as it’s hard to know how you are going to do, and the time frame it’s going to take. Even tho the money has left your account(s) I don’t receive any until the 25th of the following month, so as of yet I haven’t got any but I’m bursting with excitement for the day I do! It’s almost time to start shopping, there’s a couple I’ve seen which look like they would do the trick! Keep it coming so the hospice get a nice donation aswell, i would love to pay back some of the good hospice have done for me. Today my kids are doing the big Tahuna ocean series sea swim. The weather looks perfect so good luck to everyone taking part..

    Wishing you all a safe & happy easter time with your families what ever you may be doing. For me I hope to get out on the hospice scooter with the kids & hubby for a few hours 🤞😎fingers crossed the weather plays ball.

    We just had some gorgeous bunnies in to say hello, I took my nose oxygen off for some photos & I paid for it, now I’m suffering with breathing not so good, worth it tho for the nice photo memory, I hope! 🐇❤️🍬🐾👀🐇

  • Peg (mickey) change day 😖

    Early start with the peg nurse visiting, every 6mths my peg (Mickey) gets changed. Was pretty sore coming out so I put my brave face on & thought of all those out there having this done all the time like troops. Feels like my stomachs filling up with air squishing around, I guess I will discover that later in the toilet?! She only has a limited time to replace it before it closes up so I had to quickly take this photo with it out. Hope your day goes well where ever you may be x

  • Day 1/3 for iv steriods 🤞

    Day 1 today out of 3 for my iv steriods

    I’ve been looking forward to getting some relief this week from it 🤞just minor tasks have been really difficult the last few days. I’m getting a this is my life book written by a lovely volunter from the hospice but it was to hard to manage this week. Normally after the second bag I feel the benefit starting to work enough to notice a small difference, then if I’m lucky enough I will get more benefit the following days which will last 1-2 weeks. Might not be time for a hoon on the hospice scooter for the next 3 days 🛵 sometimes just getting to the scooter & on it can be part of the mission.

    The lines in 😜yay. The iv Takes 3 hours so my veins can handle it better & the side effects aren’t so bad. Just nausea, shortness of breath, temperature fluctuations,🤪welts & muscle myopathy/pain for a week or so afterwards.

  • Lowering sun....

    The sun is getting low of an evening now allowing the best lighting for evening photos & walks in the parks, while still being warm enough. I’ve managed to capture a few images of the interesting looking cottages around the area of the hospice, even the letterboxes can look funky or a blue tree! This is on the odd evening I can get out on the hospice scooter when I’m feeling upto it & the weather is playing ball. It truely is magic out there - Autumn time, funky cottages, blue trees, interesting letterboxes, low lighting, changing colours, family time together.

    Thank you for making my dream become more real every week, of having my own wheels, your all amazing supportive people that are helping this happen.

    Breathing is getting harder as I near the middle of the week. Wednesday I will be starting my fortnightly steriod dose for 3 days which will hopefully help.

    Missing the kids visits lately. They have been so busy swim training & attending so many swim meets I haven’t seen them for awhile. Now the weekend is upon us I don’t like holding them back from activities with their friends cause they are so blessed to have such caring wonderful friends in their lives 😍

  • Wahooo $3k!!

    Thanks all that’s truely amazing to make it to $3,000.00 already! Nearly half way there already & it’s not even been one week. 😁 Keep em’ coming!

    It’s brightened my day considerably after having to give up my room after one year. We have a patient that needed it so I’ve been moved down the back.😢 I’ve been upset most the afternoon it’s hard giving up your home of one year, that has a courtyard, carpet & spare beds for the kids to stay over. 😪

    Yesterday my hire scooter time came to an end :( Thant’s a shame cause it was handy phoning in if I had a problem with it they would just replace it etc. I took a few nice photos of around town all on new territory for me. Have a nice day.

    An early start this morning (9am)! Sarah from Elise hair & beauty was here to sort out my toes! Now they look ever so lovely, trimmed up & painted in one of my favourite colours. She visits hospice as a lovely Volunter on a regular basis which is so kind making us ladies feel special. So if you need some nice nails or other beauty work she’s the one to help transform you. Thank you for brightening up my day Sarah, from Elise hair & beauty x

    *The Nelson Tasman hospice have 400 volunteers helping them out. That’s out in the community & in the patient unit.

  • Rest day

    Abit sore & tired today after the 3 days of treatment so I’m having a rest day, which hopefully means some sleep after my 3:00pm bolus feed. Here is what a Mickey button looks like where my high calorie feed enters my stomach 3x a day. It’s needed due to breathing hard uses up more calories than I can keep up with orally.

  • Last day this week of my 3 days iv steriods

    Takes 3hours to go through as long as my lines in good condition, it’s only just hanging on may need another let’s hope not. I’m tired as been awake all night watching my feed tick down it finished early & I hate filling up with air, stopped it at 3am.
