Four weeks today our lives changed forever. The whānau is so very grateful for the ongoing love and support.

Mookies - our beloved daughter, sister, mummy, aunty, niece, cousin, much loved partner, friend of so many.

A heart that keeps on loving and keeps on giving.

    You is Kind

    You is Smart

    You is Important

    You is Beautiful

Nga mihi mahana kia koutou katoa.

It has been 2 weeks since Amanda our Mookie Moo - passed over angel side - changing our lives forever. Ironically, so much life has powerfully and lovingly been lived in those 2 weeks. The whānau wanted to take this time to reflect a little and express their immense gratitude for the enormous generosity experienced on all levels. Aroha, kai, money, words, support, music, pictures, transport, resources, hundreds of organising conversations and activities, community, karakia, friendship, flying to be with, sisterhood, brotherhood, cousinhood, whanaungatanga and the endless kindness that has surrounded and moved us all deeply.

We felt like the service was a beautiful acknowledgement and celebration of Mookies, followed up by that very poignant guard of honour on the lakefront. We experience this as a testament of her community’s love for her and the outpouring of awhi and aroha to Ben and Sophie and to us as a family. The sky was awash with the colour and images of that love – her testament in return!

We thank you all for your ongoing love and support of Ben and Sophie, these two very special people, they will need all of us in one way or another. To our sister Dina and brother Alex, your absence so acute to us, the unbearable pain of not being here, palpable and real to us.

The generosity of the Give A Little Page is mind blowing. The page remains open for a year and people can continue to koha and donate. We are so grateful for the difference this will make to Ben and Sophies futures.

There are not enough or the right words to describe our individual and collective grief - we all find our way and not at times, with it. Please know your love and support has and is being deeply felt. There are many people to thank individually and in time we will. But for now we appreciate you all so much and thank you from the bottom of our everythings. Mauri Ora – Amanda’s whānau.
