Moments Matter: Children in Hospital

CampbellMack has been proudly supporting Radio Lollipop since 2009, when he was just 9 years old. Visiting our studio often to perform for the children, Cam counted down the days till he could sign up to volunteer. His musical talent has certainly created some magical moments over the years.

Radio Lollipop is a volunteer organisation that works to provide smiles and laughter to children in hospital across the globe. During the COVID-19 pandemic, all Radio Lollipop stations have had moments where we were unable to broadcast live radio shows or visit kids on the wards - even so, it's business as UNusual and volunteers continued the fun from home.

Our funding has significantly reduced with our main fundraising event unable to go ahead. Funds allow us to provide the fun stuff for our play; be it the bubbles that make a toddler smile, the music that light up a 5yo's face, the games that bring out a 10yo's competitive side, or the intricate crafts that inspire our teens. It also covers the cost of our uniforms and training, that help our volunteers be recognised on the wards as one of the "fun people" in the hospitals we visit.

Moments Matter is a message to the children in hospitals missing their nightly visits, while encapsulating the moments and stories that have kept Radio Lollipop running for over 40 years. It is also our message to you - to encourage you to help us continue to make "Moments Matter" for children in hospital.
