    And they are officially discharged!

My mom and sister are now back home and resting.

Thank you all for your support and prayers. This journey could not be easier without your help. I could not thank you all enough. Godbless.

    Bills

Our final combined bill reached Php1.7M(NZD 47,828.48).

After deducting all the discounts(PhilHealth, Senior Citizen, Health Card), we paid Php922,596(NZD 25963.10) in cash. With all your help, we manage to raise around NZD9,000~ hence we only needed to pay the difference.

Again, thank you so much for all your help.

  • False Alarm

We thought mom will be discharged last saturday. However, after removal of Catheter, her bladder did not respond well and made it difficult for her to urinate. Also, the doctors want to check her kidneys and do an ultrasound.

    Hopefully this goes well.

Our current hospital bill for mom as of August 6, 2021 is $30,000~(Php1,070,000~), this excludes doctor's fees.

Hoping she gets better soon and be discharged soon.

  • Bill updates

      5 August 2021

We are very lucky, my sister is discharged with only around $7,500 NZD bill.

After deducting her health card and Philhealth(Government assistance) contributions we only paid around $1,700 NZD.

However, my mom's bill is still growing. The latest bill , excluding Doctor's fee is around $25,000 NZD.

We were informed that PhilHealth will contribute. But we are not sure yet how much. They say it depends on the severity of her condition.

  • On Road to Recovery

      4 August 2021

Yesterday I was on a video call with mom.

She can speak better now. She even told a joke. :)

"Son, I am lucky I have big nose, the oxygen tube can fit in".

From there I knew she is now on recovery stage.

She is eating a lot now and her latest CT Scan reveals no further major blood clots in her lungs. This is great news! The doctors are happy.

She even reached a 100% oxygen level at some point.

We are hoping she recovers fast now so we can bring her home.

Our current bill excluding doctor's fee is:

    $25,000 NZD~

My sister got discharged with a total bill of $7.7k NZD. I am so happy that my sister's bill is not so big compared to mom.

We were advised that there will be an ongoing medication and monitoring after being discharged. We are preparing for the cost of this too.

Once again, thank you so much for all your support. We really appreciate all your prayers and support at this challenging time for my family.

  • My sister is discharged!

      2 August 2021

Mom and my sister are now together again in one room.

They lowered the supply of oxygen now to my mom as she is able to breath a bit better now.

Finally, it looks like she is now on road to recovery!

  • My sister is being discharged

      31 July 2021

They are now processing the discharge papers of my sister. It's only a matter of hours I think before she can go to my mom's room.

For my mom, the doctor advised that mom's blood results improved a lot! She is continuously eating now and drinking a lot of milk.

The nurses also told my sister that my mom is their favorite, because she is very cooperative. :)

  • Good news starts to pour!

      30 July 2021

My sister's markers improves and the doctor said she might just need to finish her set of Remdesivir medicine and will be discharge soon.

For my mom, she is now stabilizing. Her latest ECG result is getting better and most of her stats improved!

  • The good news starts.

      30 July 2021

As of 5:32AM, mom's oxygen level is 96.5%. She is still at high flow oxygen supply. They attached a polycath in preparation for her hemoperfusion in case there is still a lot of toxins after the second dose of the strong medicine.

As of now, intubation is out of the discussion. The doctors are addressing the toxins in her blood.

On the positive side, my sister was able to talk to my mom via viber using the phone of the nurse. My mom said she is saving her energy because she is still struggling to breath. She is looking for her grand daughter. She told us not to worry and she is getting stronger. She is drinking milk.

My sister is so happy when we were able to finally deliver food for her. Her oxygen supply is totally removed. She is recovering now. Hopefully she can be transferred to the same room as my mom(they are separated now) so that they both have emotional comfort.

We would like to thank all those who prayed for us specially for those who prayed for my mom and sister.

Thank you so much for those who made a donation.

You are the source of our energy in fighting this battle. Thank you for all the support.

  • Intubation on-hold!

      29 July 2021

    Mom is fighting!

Her oxygen level remains high, hence the doctor decided to put the intubation on-hold. They will now administer another set of medicine(probably Tocilizumab) and perform a Hemoperfusion to her. We are hoping this makes her better and I hope intubation be cancelled all together!
