MotSAR provides land search & rescue services to the lost, missing and injured in the Motueka and Nelson region, everywhere for everyone.

Motueka, Tasman

When someone goes missing or gets injured in the rugged bush, mountains, or remote areas around Motueka and the wider Nelson region, Motueka Land Search and Rescue (MotSAR) volunteers step up. Day or night, rain or shine, our dedicated team is ready to head out into the elements to bring loved ones home.

As a volunteer, non-profit organisation, we rely on the generosity of our community to stay operational. High-tech GPS and communication gear, medical kits, protective weather clothing, and ongoing field training are critical to making sure our rescuers can operate safely and efficiently when every minute counts.

Your support directly powers our search and rescue missions. Every donation—big or small—helps ensure that when the call comes, MotSAR has the equipment and training needed to answer it.

Thank you for standing behind our volunteers and keeping our region safe!

Use of funds

Donations directly fund life-saving field equipment, navigation and communication gear, specialized medical kits, and ongoing volunteer training to ensure MotSAR is always ready to deploy 24/7 across our region.
