MS Otago are raising funds to enable us to continue to provide our monthly group support meetings across the Otago region.

Otago

Imagine you are a young adult, when suddenly strange things start happening to your body. You go to the doctor who then refers to the neurology department where you are sent for an MRI. Then the neurologist tells you that you have Multiple Sclerosis. You start treatments which mean that your condition won’t get worse, however you still have some lingering symptoms. These symptoms may interfere with your career, your social life, where you live or any other number of important life decisions. Stories like this are ones that we at MS Otago have heard hundreds of times.

People affected by Multiple Sclerosis (M.S) and related conditions deserve a space where they feel welcome, supported and included. MS Otago is a not for profit organisation that provides support, information, advocacy and education for people affected by MS and related conditions across all of Otago.

Multiple sclerosis can be an isolating disease. MS has a large number of symptoms, many of which are invisible to the outside world. These symptoms can often be difficult to discuss with people who have not experienced them.

MS Otago provides support groups for all people affected by MS and related conditions across Otago. These groups provide a safe space where connection and communication allow for a community of support which help people to live well with MS.

Make a donation today so that people affected by MS and related conditions in your community can continue to find a place of comfort and understanding.
