We visited the plastics unit again today out of a cast and off to hand rehab , still in a splint looking like there is permanent nerve damage now , still in a lot of pain but he’s happy he can get some relief from the cast
Today Matt has an appointment at the hand clinic to see the repair job and hopefully get a long term plan. Fingers and toes crossed he will get some anti inflammatory meds too as he’s in an awful amount of pain🤦♀️
Thanks aimee he’s maybe got nerve damage early days but he’s got a pretty pink cast courtesy of his little sis which he is sporting proudly , another month in a cast to immobilise his muscle in his right hand as he’s cut thru all muscle on that hand the left is still stitched and coverd to minimise scaring they have done amazing things with the wounds , stitches are dissolvable we go back in a month and start hand therapy to see what he can do with his right hand

40 stitches later Matt is home recovering on antibiotics, anti inflammatory and paracetamol. The left hand has two lacerations which are sutured, the right hand he cut thru the muscle to bone which has been immobilised, stitched and in a half cast.
We have to return to the hand clinic on the 12th of June for dressing changes where we will no more about what movement he has then too.
Hi I am Matt’s mum , I’m so great full to everyone I was never expecting this , I am so thankful he is home and mending we have a long road ahead of us from me and Matt and Matt’s siblings thank you so much
Awesome to see Matt at home makes life a bit easier and recovery is slowing falling into place. Nothing happens in a hurry unfortunately but it does happen
