I just wanted to say a HUGE thanks for your generous donations, during such a difficult time. Naia has finally been seen by Child mental health services and treatment has started for anxiety/mood challenges additional to his neurodiversity. We take day by day now, and little wins are celebrated. Today he woke up with his gorgeous smile, that had been missing for several months.

Thanks for all your generosity and support for our whānau. It's been a really tough time with Naia who's been really unwell and home for the past 9 weeks, and prior to that half days at school.

We have received Naia's complete report that confirms Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 2 in both domains ‘requiring substantial support’ with moderate challenges associated with ADHD.

This report has already resulted in some significant improvements. The next steps are to see a psychiatrist, and engage with ongoing supports/therapy and a slow transition to a new school.

We are sadly still wanting on the MOE early intervention service, Taikura Trust and Marinoto for support.

We are grateful for the support of Parent Aid, friends alike, and those who have been able to give financially - every bit has made a difference of what Naia can currently access.

Our whānau are already overwhelmed and grateful for your support and maanakitanga (care). We have already received an early release of $1500 which has made it possible to purchase sensory items inc. sunglasses, headphones, sensory body sock, and some cool gumboots and jacket for one day a week of Forrest school. It has also made it possible to start the assessment process for Autism.

    Much aroha,

    Haidee, Jord and whānau xxx
