Our Fijian friends and film family need a helping hand hand to get through the next few months.
Auckland
In the 2nd week of April Naidiri Village in Fiji was hit by Tropical Cyclone Harold. The results was the wiping out of the village's Cassava and Sweet Potato crops. This in turn has meant a reliance on purchasing food from shops and supermarkets, putting the village under severe financial strain.
For those of us who have worked in Fiji this directly affects many of our friends and film family.
A little bit can go a long way to help get through the next couple of months.
Funds will be transferred to the Naidiri Village Bank account which is managed by Jiuta Saulo, Rusiate Lua and Joseva Naqota.
I have worked closely with members of the village over the last 4 years and helping them due to recent cyclone damage to crops
The funds will primarily be used for feeding the village over the coming months as the staple crops have been ruined. Any excess money will go to village needs (generator, materials, school supplies etc)
