I’m a singer-songwriter based in New Zealand, and I was born legally blind. Help me achieve my dream of shooting a music video in LA.

Auckland

Hi, I’m Natalie and I’m a singer-songwriter based in Auckland, New Zealand, and I was born legally blind.

I have received an incredible opportunity to travel to Los Angeles with a talented team to shoot a music video for my debut single – Fall Before You Fly.

By partnering with me and giving generously in this campaign, you will be ensuring that the quality of this music video will be the best it can possibly be!

The single is part of my first album that is being produced by Dan Love, a Certified Platinum Producer who has received platinum credits on several top NZ hits.

In the past, fear has held me back from fully pursing my dreams and aspirations. I have been told that I will face discrimination and hardship because of my disability. Whilst this may be true, this year I made a decision to not allow the words and attitudes of others hold me back.

Fall Before You Fly is a song about allowing the things that have limited you or affected you in the past to motivate you to rise above and believe in the impossible.

I want this video to be a symbol of hope, not just to those who live with a disability but also to anyone who has struggled to find their feet.

On top of being a symbol of hope for others, this video will greatly will increase my chances of securing NZ-On Air funding for my album and future music videos.

It will also boost my profile as a recording artist and allow me more opportunities to fulfill my dream of working full time as a singer/songwriter

It will also increase my profile as a disabled person working professionally in the Arts and Entertainment industry. This will in turn have a profound affect on others living with disability. I believe it will also challenge unhelpful stereotypes that the public attributes to those living with disabilities. (Whilst I want to be known as a singer who happens to be blind, I recognize the incredible opportunity I have to advocate for the disability community. I have already appeared on Attitude TV, helped write and perform a song for International White Cane Day 2015, and sang Long White Cloud, a song for the Paralympic team of New Zealand for the Rio Olympics 2016.

Thank you so much for empowering me to create this music video, and bringing something I have dreamed about for years into reality!

I’M IN LA  12 November 2018

Thank you everyone who has donated so far! I’m currently in LA visiting the locations where my video will be filmed. I’m also working closely with a stylist who is revamping my look ahead of my entrance into the professional music circuit. The shoot date is being set for early Feb, so I have extended this campaign to keep raising the funds to make this video AMAZING.
