Though whole world is suffering from COVID-19 pandemic, the situation in Nepal is now grave. Nepal is battling a new and brutal wave of more infectious variant of the Covid-19 pandemic. With more than 10 000 new cases daily, Nepal poor health care system is already overwhelmed and the situation is getting worse by the day. People are dying due to lack of basic facilities like medical oxygen. A serious international support is critical to supply with vaccines, diagnostic tools, oxygen kits, critical care medicines and equipment etc, to save lives.
The government of Nepal is seeking help with international community in this regard. In the Prime Minister's words:
"Our sherpas are known for sharing their oxygen with struggling climbers at high altitude. Today, Covid-19 is leaving our country breathless and so we are looking for the “sherpas” of the international community."

We hope to raise the fund to support people back home in our own small way.
Funds will be distributed to one or more of the following three organisations depending on the funds we can raise:
1. Non Resident Nepalese Association: (NRNA) https://nrna.org/
2. Nepalese Invention Centre: https://nicnepal.org/
3. Government of Nepal (Anti Covid 19 fund)
New Zealand Nepal Society Inc. is the oldest community organisation representing Nepalese living in New Zealand. Established in 1995 with the patronage of Late Sir Edmund Hillary, it serves Nepalese in NZ and aim to help back home in the time of crisis.
The full amount will be sent back to Nepal to support the fight against the pandemic, to supply the scarce items e.g. Oxygen cylinder, critical medicine etc.
