Limited Resource Teacher Training and their partner organisations, are working towards a future where every child has a high quality education regardless of the context they are born into. They focus on improving teacher quality by running teacher training programmes in limited resource contexts around the world.
Their Fellowships are unique professional development opportunities for teachers to make a difference beyond their own classroom.
While Limited Resource Teacher Training run fellowships in many places across the world, I will be joining their programme in Nepal.
Nepal’s himalayan terrain makes much of the country rural making teacher development difficult. The 2015 earthquake further set back the education system and today 90% of students aren’t able to pass English and Maths. In this setting teacher training is both challenging and crucial.
Since 2013, the Limited Resource Teacher Training programme have worked with local educational organisations in and around the Kathmandu valley. By facilitating training through a combination of workshops, coaching and reflection they work to support teachers in Kathmandu and surrounding rural valleys.
I have been fortunate enough to be selected as one of the Limited Resource Teacher Training Fellows who will travel to Nepal in January 2018, for three weeks.
All Limited Resource Teacher Training Fellows will participate in training prior to their departure. This will prepare us to facilitate training through a combination of workshops, coaching and reflection for teachers in Kathmandu and the surrounding rural valleys.
All funds will be used to pay my Limited Resource Teacher Training Fellowship programme fees, as well as to make a contribution my my flights.
The programme fees include accommodation, transport and meals while in Nepal.
