Support Life Unlimited to fundraise for neurofeedback equipment

American psychotherapist, Sebern Fisher, has established a treatment using neurofeedback which assists people who have experienced developmental trauma to eliminate many of their debilitating symptoms. Counsellors and psychotherapists at Life Unlimited work predominately with this population of clients. As a result of early trauma they struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Symptoms include flashbacks, frequent nightmares and a pervasive sense of fear. These symptoms can be very long standing even after years of therapy. However Sebern Fisher has shown that with the use of neurofeedback, clients learn to shift their brain patterns which eliminates these intrusive and debilitating symptoms. As a result they are able to move onto leading fulfilling lives.

A recent study using neurofeedback with people who had chronic PTSD, showed that after 24 sessions, 72% of the participants were no longer diagnosed with PTSD. This shows it is by far the most effective way to treat these issues.

Currently in Auckland there is only a handful of practitioners providing this treatment. We know of just one practitioner in Auckland who specialises in applying it to chronic PTSD.

With your generous help, Life Unlimited would like to purchase this new revolutionary equipment, enabling us to offer neurofeedback treatment to our many clients who suffer from PTSD. We will also be conducting our own research, collecting data to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and to measure outcomes.
