Ruakākā Surf Life Saving Patrol needs your help! We are seeking further support to complete funding for redevelopment of our facilities.
Ruakaka, Northland
Ruakākā Surf Life Saving Patrol (RSLSP) has reached a major milestone in its long-term redevelopment, securing anchor funding of approximately $1.9 million from Surf Life Saving New Zealand’s Club Capital Project Fund, providing the foundation to deliver a new, fit-for-purpose surf lifesaving facility for the Bream Bay community.
The funding — around 35% of the total project budget of $5.5 million — allows the club to move ahead with confidence. Resource consent has been issued, the developed design is complete, and a clear funding and delivery plan is in place.
The redevelopment will replace the club’s ageing building with a modern, fit-for-purpose facility designed to support volunteer wellbeing, improve emergency response, and future-proof lifesaving services for the Bream Bay community.
Between 2020 and 2025, Ruakākā lifeguards responded to 201 incidents, took more than 2,900 preventative actions, and safeguarded over 22,000 beach users.
The club is now seeking further community, commercial, and philanthropic support to complete funding.
