Kilbirnie Early Learners is a non-profit, community based and purpose-built early childhood education service in Wellington.
Kilbirnie, Wellington
Since 1992, Kilbirnie Early Learners has been a nurturing, vibrant, and community-minded haven for hundreds of Wellington children and families. As a non-profit, purpose-built centre, we pride ourselves on providing a friendly, multicultural learning environment where tamariki are supported to explore, grow, and become lifelong learners.
Over the last couple of years our we have been working on upgrading our beloved outdoor area. We've added a new barked wet play area to replace the unsafe fort and tree as part of the overhaul.
We now have an urgent need to replace the original safety matting, which is old, worn, and no longer compliant with modern safety standards. This matting is the foundation for safe, adventurous play, and replacing it is crucial to creating a secure and improved outdoor learning environment.
We are fundraising for the essential work of removing the old matting, disposing of it and installing new modern safety surfacing.
The quote for this critical safety upgrade is $12,000.
Every dollar donated will directly contribute to this specific cost, ensuring that the next generation of Kilbirnie Early Learners has a safe and wonderful place to play.
Please help us honour our 30+ year legacy by investing in the safety of our youngest community members. A small donation makes a huge difference!
Take a look at some of the changes we’ve been making to ensure the play areas remains safe and fun for our tamaiti.

Thank you so much for all the generous donations made so far. We truly value these funds and the kind messages that has gone with some of them.
We have just received a $2000 grant from Four Winds Foundation, many thanks to them for their generosity. This tacks another $2000 towards our givealittle total!
We are progressing nicely and will continue applying for grants and other sources of fundraising to support this but more is needed!
