11 March 2022Firstly apologies to all of you wonderful people who have donated to our cause for the lack of Page Updates since January. Our campaign to raise funds has been a "roller coaster ride" because of a surprise development which took place shortly after we published our Givealittle Page in early December. We were not aware that there was opposition to our objective of acquiring Ngunguru Sandspit(balance) and Whakairiora in the name of the Crown, and the strength of that opposition from a group of local hapu members. The consequence has been that our overall funding goal has not been met by the finance date of 28 February and the sale and purchase agreement has been cancelled by the Vendor. It is therefore unlikely that the purchase will proceed and so we have decided to refund in full all Givealittle donations which were made. This will be done as soon as possible. Should the opportunity arise to enter into a new sale and purchase agreement without opposition from the hapu group we will publish a new Givealittle Page and a new campaign will begin. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated so willingly to our campaign.
