Nicky Latu Fundraiser for Surgery

  • Update for 23/04/2014

      23 April 2014

WOW! Thank you all for your kind donations. Big Thank You to all of you especially the people who do not know me personally and still chose to donate. I cannot thank you enough. Although I'm dreading the surgery I know that is in my best interests and of those close to me that i get it done. My surgeon has told me that I'm crazy to do the Tough Mudder this Saturday, my reply ""What's the worst that can happen?"". I am going to push through the Pain barrier and try my best to bust out this 20 KM obstacle / mud run and earn my rest after the surgery. I don""t like to think what my fitness and weight would be like after 6-8 weeks of doing nothing. Wish me luck people and thanks again for your donations and words of support it really does mean a lot to me and my young family.

Hi there, Over the years I have donated to many charities/organisations through Movember, Red Cross, The New Zealand Cancer Society, Cancer Society Auckland & Northland, World Vision and The Salvation Army to name a few. I am asking for your help to give me a better quality of life. At the moment I am unable to wear shoes as I have a prominent sized Haglanfs deformity in my left foot. This causes me to limp and not be able to do much whilst on my feet. (I am getting steroid injections for the pain to be able to continue working @ $360 a pop) I have persevered with the pain since 2009 when it was suggested by my then doctor that I had gout. It wasnft until December 2013 that it was confirmed that I have a bone condition which causes calcifying of bones throughout my body. The only option left for me is surgery as the conservative treatment approach has not brought on any better results. I am awaiting x-rays on my right foot and knees as the surgeon has suggested that they are susceptible to the same condition. If you would like to know anything more about my condition or the procedure please let me know Please share this page with all your family and friends. Kind regards Nicky
