Family of nine safe, but lost all worldly goods in Friday night house fire in Christchurch.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Please help the Tugaga Family of Christchurch. Late on Friday night the 2nd of June their home/fale burned and they lost everything, including their two vehicles. They are staying with members of the school community but are in shock as they face the coming weeks establishing themselves again. Their seven children, aged from 16 to 5, have a number of hurdles to over come in the following weeks. Their most pressing matters are accommodation, clothing, food, transport, work and school uniforms. In the long term they will need a foundation of resources to help restore independence and pride again. The family did not have insurance due to the cost of living. Please help. They deeply appreciate the gesture. Faamolemole, le agaga fa'aaloalo mana'omia lou alofa tulai i se tasi o aiga na faaumatia e le mu le latou fale eg mea totino, taavale Fa'afetai tele mo lou ag'alelei Fa'amanuia le Atua.
I am the mother of two boys who are in the same classes as their younger children at primary school.
The family need to secure accommodation, transport, beds, linen, clothing, food - the essentials of life. They need the security of being and feeling safe and independent in their own sanctuary.
Thank you from the Tugaga family 16 June 2023
