Helping orphaned wild ducklings and injured ducks and ducklings since 2016 .
Christchurch, Canterbury
Founded in 2016, the North Canterbury Duck Rescue has been helping ducks for 8 years.
Most of the costs of running the rescue are funded by myself out of my own pockets. The costs are:
Feed: $200-$250 per week
Veterinary Bills: Thousands per year
Rent for Land to house the ducks: $100 per week
(All of the above can be verified on request)
This is my passion and I have been happy to cover most of these costs myself. However as an IT Contractor, the "worst in 20 years" recession in the IT job market (particularly for contractors) has meant that since November 2023, I have been out of work and paying all of the bills for the rescue, alongside my own living expenses from my own savings. Savings I had worked my arse off for, to meet my dream of buying some land for the rescue.
It's heartbreaking watching all of my hard work literally disappear s little more every week to pay the bills.
I know its hard for all of us out there, but any help would be appreciated. If you cannot afford to donate yourself you can still help by sharing this page.
3 donations are needed to make the page live and searchable. If you can help out, even by just donating $1 or whatever the Givealittle minimum is, this would really help.
Feed ($200-$250 a week)
Vet bills, bedding (hay, wood shavings)
Duckling heat lamps and housing for volunteer duckling foster carers.
