Newly married NZ Police Officers made redundant for not complying to the government mandates.
Nationwide
Last week after 8 years 1 month and 23 days, Peter's time serving as a Police officer in the New Zealand Police came to an end; and he is no longer a Police officer.
Being served a termination letter for choosing not to comply with the mandate was a day of mixed emotions, but one that both him and his wife had been preparing for. They have been made redundant from one of the greatest most rewarding jobs you could ever do; but it’s also one of the most dangerous.
Peter has had some amazing times in the NZ Police and worked with some incredible people, both on the frontline and his recent role in the Southern Communications centre in Christchurch, (where within less than a year he got to be an acting team leader) and was aiming towards pursuing his Sergeants qualification.
"So sadly with the Government mandate now in effect it’s been a very difficult and emotional decision, losing not only the jobs we thought would take us to retirement but also losing our house we are in the middle of building. But as they say ‘when you stand for nothing you’ll fall for everything”. 10-0" - PETER.

A thankyou from Peter and Ella 15 March 2022
To those who donated and gave from the kindness of their hearts; we can’t thank you enough for your generosity and aroha.
We have been overwhelmed with messages of support from fellow kiwis and others who have been affected by these ridiculous mandates. We stand with you all.
Although the Police and NZDF mandate was found to be unlawful, we still don’t have our jobs back and they are currently dealing with internal policies which are preventing us from going back at present, as well as the potential for the crown to bring a possible appeal! So watch this space.
Thank you again for your sincerest generosity, these funds will go towards current bills and to show their appreciation they will donate a small amount to a non for profit organisation.
Your message will be displayed on the page and emailed to the donor.
