Helping and advocating for Pugs for 26 years.
Nationwide
Many, many Pugs have been helped during the last 26 yrs. Pugs of all ages, some with chronic health conditions, we've been the only Pug specific rescue service in NZ.
Breed information has been provided throughout the entire time for those wanted to learn about Pugs
BEFORE making the huge commitment of taking one into their life.
The breed information is freely available on our website.
The Pugs who come to me have been fully dependent on the generosity of supportive donors, for cost of sometimes extensive vet care and quality healthy food.
Whilst I can't help every single Pug in need I continue to do the best I can with sometimes limited resources.
Every donation received goes toward Pug care
To contact us in regards to a Pug requiring assistance, or if considering adoption, please email nzpugrescue@gmail.com
We endeavor to assist every Pug requiring help. There is no selection process. Sometimes a Pug may need to go into foster care, sometimes we can assist to find a new home. Each situation is individual and treated as such.
When applying to adopt, via the email address given, people are sent an adoption application questionnaire to complete. We look for homes best suited for the breed. A basic outline of criteria is given at time of application. Successful applications are held on our waiting list and we aim to make the best match for the individual Pug from those on the waiting list..
As many aspects of Pug care as possible, but money is primarily used for veterinary costs, quality food and health supplements. Where finances allow other items such as cleaning products, harnesses and leads for new arrivals, toys and treats.
Time for another thank you. 21 May 2026
I'm hugely grateful for the support given towards helping our Pugs, and more recently for Shubie.
She is just 2 weeks post surgery and doing extremely well. Dr Ares saw her last Friday and was more than happy with Shubies progress. From tomorrow she will be allowed to gradually increase duration of on lead walks and indoors can move from crate to puppy pen. Shubie getting the surgery she needed was entirely due to the support she received, so thank you again. Our page was due to close in a few days but I have been able to extend it for another 3 months. Never know when another Pug may need help as a Shubie did.
Wishing everyone well,
Brenda and Pugs.
