      4 April 2014

Hi Everyone My name is Jacqui. Once upon a time I served in the NZ Army as a medic. While I never got to go overseas I am still proud to say I served my country. I worked alongside some of our fallen soldiers in my time and I feel very privileged that I can support such an amazing cause. Currently I work in the healthcare sector supporting people to stay in their homes. So while I will not personally be doing the Tough Mudder challenge, due knee surgery I had 6 months ago, I will be there supporting the team, and making sure we do everyone proud. This is an awesome cause so please help us to help the New Zealand Fallen Hero's Trust, they do an amazing job.

Hey guys, What's this thing you're calling me? A civvi? I guess I'm one of them! I have a desk job and spend my 9-5s (and some) behind a laptop on a swivelly chair that I don't even swivel that much. As much as I've always been a fan of sports, I've never done anything like this. After an average 2013 my New Year's resolution was to actually do something with 2014. I decided to do one epic thing every single month - something different to my usual subdued weekends. So when April Revake (a former co-worker at said desk job) put the call out for some extra participants, I knew what my April 'epic thing' would be. So far I've run the Colour Run and Round the Bays, been berry picking, been to Matakana for a weekend, given blood for the first time, booked a trip to Wellington and Nelson, booked concert tickets, am in the middle of booking a trip to Queenstown for Winterfest, will soon pick a date for a Hobbiton tour, tried to volunteer (signed up too late but will give this another shot) and still have a massive list of things I want to do. It's been a better 2014 than 2013 already and I can't wait to add Tough Mudder to the mix. One of the coolest parts about it all so far is that it seems to be catching - a couple of people I've dragged along with me to these events and activities are keen to do one epic thing every month as well. If I can get anyone else to take part in life a little more then that makes me even happier with what I'm doing, and the chance to fundraise for an amazing cause just makes it all the better. I've never met anyone on the team apart from April so can't wait to meet the crew. What better way to bond than with fire, ice, and electric shocks?

Kia Orana guys! My name is April Revake and I'm the little sis of Acacia. I'm responsible for sparking the idea of Tough Mudder in Acacia (yep I'm taking the credit) and now I'm freaking out because it's going to be a hell of a challenge! While the obstacle course will most likely reduce me to tears, I will give it 110% because we'll be slogging through mud and getting electric shocks for a good cause. Working in writing and marketing over the past few years, I'm one of the 'civvies' in Team ALPHA & OMEGA, having no defence force training to back me up. But I won't use that as an excuse to crash and burn on the day (or will I lol) as there's nothing better than knowing that: 1. I completed Tough Mudder, one of the most challenging events in the world 2. I helped raise money for New Zealand Fallen Heroes Trust and 3. I crossed one task off the bucket list. If you're up in Auckland on Saturday April 26 and have no plans for the day, I urge you to come out and support us as we don our superhero costumes and tackle this course! If you can't make it, please donate to our fund for New Zealand Fallen Heroes Trust (http://www.givealittle.co.nz//cause/NZFallenHeroesTrust) supporting the families of our fallen comrades. Kia Manuia

  • INSPIRATIONAL INELEOS

      2 April 2014

Kia ora and Taloha ni! We are Matt and Samantha Ineleo. We are best friends, soul mates and more recently training buddies : ) We have been married for 11 years now, have known each other for 13 years and are the proud parents of 3 beautiful girls. Over the past 12 months we have made a healthy lifestyle our priority not only for ourselves but also for our tamariki. Below is a pic of the old us which was taken back in 2010 ? the recent one was taken in March this year(visit our event page to view). Since committing to this new focus we have both gained so much and our results have inspired us to achieve even bigger and better things. This is also how we met Acacia Newell through MK Nutrition. When we saw that Tough Mudder was coming to NZ we said to ourselves gthis looks scary! Letfs do it!h so here we are. If you asked us to do this 2 years ago we would have thought gyou must be joking ? not in your wildest dreams!h but since we have turned our lives around we now live by a ganything is possible!"" attitude. Fundraising for the NZ Fallen heroes foundation is a bonus for us as it also allows us to support a greater cause which will definately give us that extra incentive to push through the pain with the Tough Mudder challenge. We both hope to inspire others who are looking to make that a positive lifestyle change for themselves and their whanau and appreciate your support in advance. Arohanui and Fakafetai lahi lele (thanks in Tokelauan)

Kia Orana, My name is Acacia & I served 9 1/2 years in the NZ Army as a Medic. In this time I served overseas in both Timor Leste & Afghanistan as a soldier, mother, wife, friend, sister, daughter. Although I left the uniform to pursue other goals my heart is still with the green. WHY HAVE I DECIDED TO DO THIS? Having worked & served with a few of these top soldiers, I believe our challenges we have set individually & will overcome as a team on the lead up & during The Tough Mudder adventure will uphold the values of the NZDF & honour all those who have fallen, especially as ANZAC day is fast approaching. COURAGE, COMMITMENT, COMRADESHIP, INTEGRITY. Unity & keeping it real : ) It is about WHANAU - Lets do it Team!! Be part of our event & donate today - SHARE with friends, family & collegues. Thank you so much in Advance

Kia Ora, I am married to Acacia and have two beautiful children Aydin and Ariya. I'm still lurking around the Army and have been for 10yrs now, no change there especailly the one's that know me lol. REASONS WHY I AM DOING THIS: 1. To run and complete the tough mudz. 2. To raise funds for friends and their families who have lost loved ones overseas. 3. Being a day after Anzac theres no better reason, as we can remember the fallen that have sacraficed their lives so we can have the lives we live today. So come on peeps help us out on achieving this goal in raising the funds for a well deserved cause. Help us cross that finish line with our chest up high and our bodies battered and bruised. Work Hard, Earn it!!
