NZ Pug Rescue, helping Pugs for over 20 years

  • Thanks from Louie

Our big boy, Louie, is looking a bit disgruntled because I woke him from a nap, but he wants to say a special thanks to everyone who donated towards his care. Your generosity has given enough for his much needed dental surgery and bought a little food.

Louie has reached 10kg in weight, having now lost 1.7kg. I am aiming for another 500gm and then his surgery can go ahead.

Sadly our general rescue fund is almost nil and I'm now picking up some of the costs myself. Any further help will be a godsend.

Thanks for your kindness and for caring.

He is our latest arrival. It was a big surprise to discover Louie is a litter brother of Batman. Like Batman he has arrived in need of weight loss (about 2.5kg), and will need dental surgery (at least $1500).

Our rescue fund is nearly empty so fundraising we will need to do.

Louie is a lovely lad, 8.4 years old, and will be on the hunt for a wonderful new home in a few month time.

  • Batman has had a big day

He is worn out after a date with the vet today. The best news is Batman is no longer Fatman. He has lost nearly 2kg and now sits at a healthier 10.5kg. Still a little bit more to go but the vet said we can now go ahead and get his dental surgery done. All booked for next week, with a big thanks to everyone who donated to help make it possible.

On a not so positive note, I've had concerns with one of his eyes and today 2 vets confirmed I wasn't wrong. They feel he hasn't any sight in his left eye at all. The reason still to be found but one possibility is a link between rotten teeth and infection in his jaw. He has some eye drops, we will get that dental done and go from there. (X-rays prior to dental may help shed some light but already cost of his vet care has now increased). Any additional help will be gratefully received, thank you. He's a really delightful boy and deserves having his health sorted.

I want to offer a very big thank you to all who have supported, and continue to support the Pugs who come into our care. Our latest boy is yet another who has arrived in need of vet attention. He has skin and ear issues in need of treatment, and needs dental surgery as soon as he loses a few kgs. Unfortunately our funds are extremely low so any further help from our wonderful supporters would be gratefully received.

  • The Pugs thank you

We are grateful to Givealittle for renewing our page for another year.

Without the page, and the wonderful support given by all donors over the past years, we would have struggled to provide the care some of the Pugs require. We cannot thank our supporters enough for your generosity. In the current difficult economic times, with rising costs, your ongoing donations become even more vital for our Pugs. Every single dollar helps.
