12 May 2023Thanks for all the support we have received so far! We are all ready to start walking at first light tomorrow. NZRT21 members will be joined by members of the Selwyn Emergency Support Team (SEST) - all of us are part of the fab Selwyn Civil Defence community. Should be a good day!

NZRT21 and the Selwyn Emergency Support Team, you are amazing! Sending love from the people of Karekare, we will be thinking of you tomorrow - thank-you! Today has been a big day for us as work started moving the house that's on the road in the valley. It has been hard psychologically driving around it every day, so we're pretty stoked to finally have progress.
The link below is to a family video my daughter put together of parts of our family cyclone experience in Karekare. The pictures of the waterfall and flooding are early on in the afternoon before things really kicked off.
