Help NZ’s First Youth Fly Fishing Team Reach the World Championships!

Six talented young anglers have been selected to represent New Zealand at the Youth World Fly Fishing Championships in Slovakia in July 2027.

This will be the first time New Zealand has sent a youth fly fishing team to the World Championships, making it an incredibly exciting milestone for the sport and for the next generation of Kiwi anglers.

The team is made up of six boys aged 15–17:

Jayden Moore

Charlie Laird

Aiden Richardson

The boys have been developing their skills through the Sports Fly Fishing NZ youth development programme, attending training camps, competing around the country and learning from experienced competitive anglers.

Representing New Zealand on the world stage is an incredible opportunity, but getting the team to Slovakia is a huge undertaking. We are aiming to raise approximately $50,000 to help cover the costs of flights, accommodation, competition fees and other essential expenses associated with getting the team to the Championships.

Every donation, big or small, helps bring these young anglers one step closer to Slovakia and the opportunity to proudly represent New Zealand.
