'Running with The Speed Freaks has helped change my life.' Leo Coles.
Our recent resident Leo, has embraced running and within a year has gone from zero to running a 75 km Ultra in the Christchurch Port Hills.
We currently have two residents training for their first half marathon and runners and walkers ready for our local city to surf.
Our runners and walkers train 2 - 3 times a week, supported by volunteer coaches.
Funds raised support race entries. Cheers and support at the start and finish line is the magic that keeps us 'running for recovery'
Our mission is to improve the wellbeing of individuals, family and community affected by addiction, mental health and related issues.

Still running and walking for recovery. 12 March 2021
We have reopened our page at the request of individuals wanting to donate towards event entries for our runners and walkers.
We have been blessed here in NZ to be able to continue to enter events at a time where the rest of the world have not been able to, and The Speed Freaks have been keen to focus on their next one, and the next one.
Thank you to all those that cheer us on.
See you on the start line.
