I'd like to help Ian and Trish out with funding for cancer medication. The cost is astronomical and every little bit helps.
Wellington
I have known Ian for over 30 years both in the work place and socially. He is a good man and a good friend and I hate that he and his family are having to deal with cancer. The worst thing is that this isn't the first time the cancer has raised its ugly head.
Ian & Trish are facing on-going monthly medical expenses for Trish's second round of breast cancer; She needs IBRANCE Palbociclib, the medication is not government funded (Pharmac) and the costs are $5900 for 21 days of medication. This is an insane amount of money - most people don't earn that much money and nobody is ever prepared to suddenly have a monthly outgoing of such a large amount for any period, let alone for years in the future.
My goal here is simply to ask others to give what they can. There are no expectations, but I'd like to help Ian and his family out the best way I can. Every little bit helps. And please feel free to petition your local MP to back the funding of these drugs through government funding.
Ian and I have worked together for 30+ years. He and his wife have been through breast cancer and successfully came through it, I'm devastated to watch them go through it again at great expense to themselves both emotionally and financially. The medication cost is just short of $6000 per month.
To pay on-going cancer medication costs, as well as possible relief for the family should it be available.
