A LENGTH-OF-AOTEAROA NZ BIKE RIDE FOR NEURO-DIVERGENT KIWI KIDS
Auckland
My name is John, a 70 year old, semi-retired plumber and family man, from West Auckland 'since ages ago'! Now that I'm working part-time and awaiting hip-surgery after years of work, I figured why not try to ride the length of Aotearoa NZ for our kiwi kids!
One Hip and a Prayer will be an epic challenge from The Cape to The Bluff! All funds will go to ACORN Charitable Trust. ACORN send their trained team into schools to assist our neuro-divergent kids with their learning journey.
This directly impacts ALL students and teachers!
Our neuro-divergent kids experience and interact with the world differently. They are a part of our families regardless of ethnicity, culture or socio-economic status. ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is hitting the headlines but Autism, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia are other examples.
The ride starts on about Feb 21. Not long to go!
Many thanks for anything you can afford to give for this worthy cause which we are all connected to in one way or another.
Let's see how far my one good hip and a prayer will take me for our kids!!
We're a family wanting to fundraise for ACORN Charitable Trust. Although independent from ACORN we share their passion for our kids who see the world differently. We have chosen them due to their sound professional model working at the grassroots level.
All funds raised will be given to ACORN Charitable Trust. ACORN send their specially trained team into schools to work directly with our neuro-divergent kids. This is a WIN for ALL students and teachers in our classrooms!!
