Help us pay the rates bill so we can keep ONEONESIX running for the Whangarei Community to enjoy.
Northland
One year on from our last crowd funding campaign and ONEONESIX continues to operate as a vibrant community space for the young and old people of Whangarei to participate in a VAST range of community, performance and arts activity. Part old style village hall, part fringe theatre venue, the activity that occurs at ONEONESIX in one week can range from Kendo to Cooking classes, Dance therapy to group singing, radio djs to exhibitions, pre-school circus to community dance, improv to teenage movie making, black light dance nights to roller discos, dressup parties to live gigs, touring theatre shows to comedy nights….It is a place of diversity and inclusion and in the last year has averaged around 950 visitors per month coming to watch, create, listen and participate. ONEONESIX plays a vital role in our community and is growing by the day. Next year we hope to apply for operation funding with the formation of a ONEONESIX trust as well as many other exciting developments. Hopefully we’ll see more festivals, a paint job, a new floor and to keep building ONEONESIX into the vibrant community hub it is becoming. Thank you to all the hundreds of people who contribute to this amazing project.
ONEONESIX currently receives no funding and relies heavily on volunteer hours for building maintenance, administration, communication and management. All rent goes straight back into continuing to build the space and look after the building. We hope to get some help with this year’s rates and utilities bill of $5276.60.
