Love living on Waiheke Island? Lets keep our emergency responders able to do what they do best. Save the lives and property for all...
Waiheke Island, Auckland
Our Waiheke Island community relies on the emergency first responders on Waiheke to live here. Fire Service, Coastguard, St John and the Rescue Helicopter are all looking for ongoing support and with permission from their HQs, we can keep all money raised from our Givealittle page to assist with the development of new, needed projects to support their Waiheke operations.
Waiheke Events is presenting the Onetangi Beach Races at the Dirt Track on Sunday 15th to celebrate community and to raise as much money as we can to ensure that our emergency services can continue to deliver the emergency services we all rely on. We have heard so many stories of how residents have been saved in precarious situations so lets back the teams that make that possible.
I have been fundraising for emergency services on Waiheke for 15 years and the need for support has never been greater in this climate.
Each of the services are struggling. Fire Service want water tanks at the East End, Coastguard need new engines for their rescue boat, Helicopter needs defibrillators and St John need solar panels for the roof of their HQ in Ostend. Lets help them all, all funds raised will be used to support Waiheke St John, Waiheke Coastguard, Waiheke Fire Service and Auckland Rescue Helicopter
Beach Races Cancellation 23 January 2026
We have had to cancel the 2026 Beach Races event, but thanks to all of your amazing support. We will move to sharing the donations we received amongst the four rescue services on Waiheke:
Coastguard, Fire Service, St John and Rescue Helicopter.
Every dollar helps to support these great services, many of whom rely on volunteers.
Thanks so much to all the donors, and especially to EcoZip Waiheke
All the best,
Warwick
