Support Josh Hurns stage 4 bowel cancer treatment.

$58,500 of $50,000 goal
Given by 776 generous donors in around 12 months

Josh Hurn is raising money to pay for his stage 4 Bowel cancer treatment that is unfunded by the New Zealand Health system.

Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui

Josh Hurn is the chief and is well-loved in many communities. He has been a close friend of ours for decades and will continue to be a brother to us for as long as his health will allow.

A son, brother, friend, teacher, teammate, coach, colleague to many and now a patient, someone that needs the support of his communities now so we can add survivor to the list.

At only 27, Josh was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer that had spread to his liver and lung on the 31st of January 2022. Josh experienced a five month delay between showing symptoms at the GP in September of 2021 to his diagnosis from the hospital

Josh has spent the whole year going through radiation treatment on the cancer in his bowel through two types of chemotherapy treatment. However recent developments have shown the chemotherapy to be ineffective and Josh was told by his oncologist there only unfunded treatment the hospital could provide him.

He decided with the help of his friends and family to raise the money required for the treatment.

To most of you, Josh's current condition may come as quite a shock. His strength and optimism allow him to present himself in a way that misleads his loved ones from the seriousness of his situation.

Thank you from the bottom of everyone's hearts for any contribution. We encourage you to share this page so we can reach the goals Josh is seeking for treatment.

Josh's Support Campaign's involvement (page creator)

To me, Josh has been one of my closest friends for as long as I can remember, someone I consider a brother. I know Josh will have many similar relationships with people he has met all over the globe because he IS that guy. Known by many and loved by all.

Use of funds

This Give a little will be used for Josh Hurns monthly unfunded chemotherapy treatment (Trifluridine/tipiracil) totaling 5600$ a month for the foreseeable future. Also funds will be used to reduce the financial burden of fighting cancer on Josh.
