Opunake Kindergarten- grow our centre to support our tamariki
Fundraising for a building extension to allow our centre to grow with our community.

As our community grows Ōpunake Kindergarten needs to grow with it. There are some parts of our building that we have outgrown and we need to extend to make things easier for staff and Tamariki.
We are extending our building to include a staff room as our staff numbers have increased and their space is cramped, also increase the administration area that was designed for one but now there’s more. Our kitchen will grow to give more abilities to prepare food the tamariki have grown in the centre Veggie Garden and Food Forest, this will also include a child specific area so the children can follow our 'garden to plate' ethos. Finally, a covered decking area will link the new and old giving us additional outdoor activities space.
We have already saved, fundraised and received grants to $340,000 of our $400,000 need.
About us
Ōpunake Communities Kindergarten, an early childhood education centre for children 0-6 years old. A community owned and operated kindergarten working alongside our community to support their families.
Use of funds
Building extension. Quotes are for $400,000 of which we still require $60,000. Anything over our target would go directly back into the centre.
