OraTaiao: The New Zealand Climate and Health Council comprises senior doctors and other health professionals in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
Nationwide
The Council's goals include educating all New Zealanders on the threat of climate change and its effects on human health and survival, and promoting interventions that combine health and environmental benefits. We emphasise science and evidence-based policies for health, equity and community resilience.
The Council has an active media presence to promote its goals, and has been featured on television, radio, print and online news. Other activities include policy submissions and presentations, and advice on greening the health sector. More information on the Council in the media can be found at https://www.orataiao.org.nz/media.
The Council is a not-for-profit, politically non-partisan incorporated society.
As health professionals, we lead by example in advocating for health-enhancing climate action. We exist to unite and mobilise health-climate voices and are hugely grateful for the diverse expertise and active support of our members. Collectively, we create consciousness and action that strengthens an equitable, rapid, and regenerative transition for Aotearoa.
