Organic research demonstration dairy farm

Semi retired organic dairy farmer Geoff Downey, pioneer of a world class sustainable farming system, fundraising for this demonstration farm project. This system known as growth enhanced organic food farming system (GEOFFS) differs from mainstream farming systems with crucial focus on soil fertility. Years of trial and error during development, identified multiple trace element soil deficiencies needed to be corrected with broad spectrum fertilizer. Finally seaweed fertilizer was trialed and succeeded in addressing these unknown trace element deficiencies.

It was observed that with this richly restored soil fertility the farms entire soil based life cycles of microbes, plants and animals health and vitality was restored. The link between fertile soil and ecosystem health was established, and by implication human consumers enjoying dietary intake derived from high fertility farmland also enjoy natural health care by way of prevention of disorders.

This conclusion aligns with the earlier scientific studies conducted by the great English agronomist Dr Michael Blake and was published in his book 'CONCENTRATED INCOMPLETE FERTILIZERS' (published in 1967).

This conforms with the old saying you are what you eat or prevention is better than cure.

Geoff would like to bring this farm to the people for the people, and for the wider environment enjoying the universal benefits of 'chemical-free' safe food production.

The purpose of raising funds for this demonstration farm, is to share the knowledge with all of New Zealand as we enter the 'new era', and the green economy the prime minister has foreshadowed.
