Otara 13-year-old needs a lifesaving heart operation before Christmas 2021
Auckland
Junior Tofa urgently needs to have an operation to repair damage to his heart from Rheumatic Heart disease. However, his family needs to pay for it themselves. He came to New Zealand from Samoa at the end of 2019 to visit his sick grandad. They then got stuck here due to Covid-19 and it was in 2020 that he found out he had become sick with Rheumatic Heart Disease. Doctors know he did not have this back in Samoa. He doesn’t qualify under the NZ Health system to get his operation paid for because the family are not NZ Citizens or permanent residents and he does not qualify for Samoa health funding, because he was in NZ when he got this illness. His parents both work but will not be able to come up with the money themselves. He is the only child of his parents and he must have this operation before Christmas if he is to have a normal life. They need your help. Junior needs your help.

The financial support from funds raised will mean Junior can get his lifesaving heart operation and Tofa and Uini will be able to focus their time on their son, together as a family.
