✨ Our Kids’ Dream Trip – A Story We Never Thought We’d Have to Tell ✨

Helping our kids reclaim their dream trip after it was suddenly taken away - fundraising with hope, heart, and a need for a miracle.

This year was meant to be unforgettable for our Year 7&8 kids. They baked, sold raffles, stood in the rain, and watched every dollar they earned bring them closer to their dream trip to the Gold Coast. Their parents gave everything they could - some used the last money in their accounts, some gave up Christmas plans, and many quietly went without so their children wouldn’t miss out.

Then, without warning, the trip was taken away.

Months of hard work and sacrifice were dismissed in a moment. No clear explanation. Just heartbreak. Now some of our kids face a sad Christmas, with whānau who spent every spare cent left carrying the weight of a dream suddenly denied.

We aren’t giving up. A small group of parents has come together to keep fighting for our kids. We’re still fundraising every day, doing everything we possibly can - but we need help. We need a miracle to make this happen before the new school year.

If you can give even a little, you’ll help lift a huge burden from our families and give our kids back the hope and joy they’ve earned.

I’m a parent of one of the children, I bake religiously for fundraisers, and the person responsible for managing and overseeing all funds raised for the trip.

Use of funds

The money will be spent on flights, accomodation & activities on the Gold Coast for 4 parents and 9 Children.

If we don’t raise all the funds we need we will still put the funds towards the kids trip - Flights, Accomodation & Activities for 4 Parents and 9 Children of the Secret Bakes Fundraising team 🥰

We are completely overwhelmed with gratitude. To every single person who donated, shared our story, baked, bought, raffled, showed up, messaged us, encouraged us, or simply believed in what we were trying to do, thank you.

What you have done goes far beyond dollars and cents. You believed in our kids. You believed in fairness. You believed that when something precious is taken away, a community can come together and help make it right again.

Every small act of support mattered. Every donation, big or small, every kind word, every bit of faith in us gave us the strength to keep going, even when it felt overwhelming.

Because of you, our children know that they are supported, valued, and worthy of their dreams. They know that people who don’t even know them personally were willing to stand beside them and say “we’ve got you.”

We are sorry to hear about this sad and unfortunate story but there is always seems to be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and one generous donor has made this happen for these children. There has been many more donors and I hope you raise so much more for these kids so they will get to enjoy a great christmas expierence for all there hard work and tireless hours they have put in. Marissa its good to see they still have some adults that care and have taken on themselves to follow through and make this a trip of a lifetime to be rewarded with huge smiles and appreciation and will get to see and expierence other countries different cultures.
