Our local hero

Todd Smith.. he’s one of those humble, heart of gold, awesome kiwi blokes who in a time of disaster steps up to the plate and ends up the superhero of many stories.

Personally Todd saved my family in the Esk River flood. He did not hesitate to come and get us out once he found out we were still racing around getting children and pets up after we made contact with his amazing other half Liz. He helped carry both my children out and 3 pets, got myself and my husband out which by then was waist deep water which just keep coming in higher and higher. And that’s just a small snippet of what he did for us. He went on to get many more families and people safe. His family along the front, housed so many of us, fed us and kept us dry and safe.

This heart of gold legend unfortunately hadn’t sorted contents for his own house only being in his house mere months and like all others down our street has lost everything. He’s also self-employed so I’m hoping to rally behind him.

He is currently fixing septic tanks down North Shore, coordinating sparkies for the rest, organising and coordinating day after day after day for the community out here and man he needs some aroha back.

Please help me support Todd, his partner Liz and his brother by giving back to them because man they deserve it as they’re just going to keep going and being our North Shore and Pohutukawa superheroes.
