We appreciate all donations, we are having a fundraiser on Saturday 24th March 2017, at the Underground Market Waihi, Sausage Sizzle, Etc
Waikato
We are having a fundraiser to raise money to help with travel and living costs and mainly to provide Karmady with what she needs post surgery and for the future battles yet to come. Heres the story . It all started when the pregnancy stick showed a positive result!!! We were so excited as this was our one and only chance to have a baby together as we were both over 40. At 20wks my bloods came back with a one in 5 chance of Down Syndrome, but I decided I didnt care, this was our one and only chance and I was not going to even contemplate termination as we had wanted a baby for many years, but life happened!!! And I wasnt gping to terminate a life on the chance they might be different, different is also amazing!!!, so at about the 25wk mark we had short limbs appearing on the scan combined with IUGR (baby was way to small) so our first diagnosis was Dwarfism, but we could handle that, it would just mean our wee poppet would be smaller for a whole lot longer, then our 30wk scan appointment came at the Auckland Foetal Unit, and results were not good, we had a congenital heart disease baby that may have many underlying issues and it may not be worth continuing the pregnancy due to so many issues, so were given the option to terminate at 30 wks and were sent for an emergency amniocentesis which i absolutely dreaded!! I was against termination from the get go so it wasnt an option for us, but the amniocentesis came back with Trisomy 21 again I wasnt bothered, as long as she is born healthy, but unfortunately she had stopped growing so had to keep her inutero as long as we could, after all we have been through, we can do this, then the day came for our scan THE 19th October 2017, it was bad, her heart was erratic and bloodflow was in reverse, so off to the ER for a classic cut emergency c-section!! I was terrified!!! This was it, is my baby going to make it? In a few minutes it was all over and she was born at 4:15pm weighing in at 1280g, so now the journey really began, different hospitals and doctors and nurses for the first 5 wks, i never got to stay the night with my baby until she was over a month old but , i was there every single day, now we are closing in on her open heart surgery, which is the first week of April, and all monies raised will be going towards travel expenses, appointments and anything to help with the improvement of her muscle tone and future battles
I am organising a Fundraiser to be held at the Underground Market Waihi, on Saturday the 24th of March 2018. There will be a Sausage sizzle, bake sale and there will be a raffle to be drawn for the 2x Quantum Senses Pamper Hampers on site around 1pm. Raffle tickets will be available at the Underground Market Waihi from Monday 5th of March. Winners will be notified by phone, if they are not present, Raffle Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. My daughter has a pending open heart surgery amidst a few other issues (hearing loss and Trusomy 21) and am trying to raise funds for post surgery care, so I can care for her myself without having to rush back to work and give her the best that I possibly can! So
Excess funds will be spent on items to improve hearing, mobility sessions (swimming when shes a bit bigger), toys to improve muscle tone
Surgery Complete 18 April 2018
Our open heart surgery is completed, thank goodness, Karmady has had a very hard few days, she has shown me how brave and resilient she is my little trooper, ive been on an emotional rollercoaster and the surgery was by no means any different, very emotional, but she is by far my new super hero, she astounded everyone with her recovery, my little miracle baby, we arent out of the woods yet and other trials are coming up but for now please know how much we appreciate your support at this time, I am not going back to work yet as I feel it is to soon, im not willing to part with my wee mite just yet, so she will be supporting me down at our lil soap shop at the underground market in Waihi, feel free to come and meet our little blossom when she has recovered fully, she really is a gem ( please dont visit if you are sick xxx)
