Pae Hono - urgently helping whānau navigate Omicron

Pae Hono is a resource run by Māori for Māori that gives whānau confidence in preparing for and responding to, the coming Omicron outbreak and any following outbreaks. This is an urgent service that has been declined government funding, so we are asking for your help.

Our important services to whānau will include:

- Planning and preparation information and guides

- Assistance for whānau to feel empowered and self-sufficient navigating the health system

- Helping whānau access equipment like oximeters

- Live health monitoring and guidance when COVID is contracted

- Māori-designed creative content to support spiritual and mental health during illness.

We also provide a free service to connect kaitiaki support organisations (such as food banks, iwi and hapū outreach initiatives and healthcare providers) to whānau who would like their support.

Any funds raised will be used to maintain and improve the technology and outreach of http://paehono.nz The service provides live information about planning, testing, accessing health equipment like oximeters, best practice isolation protocols, real-time monitoring of COVID symptoms and alerts when symptoms become dangerous.

Pae Hono also provides information about whānau to support services nearby (if whānau opt-in to their data being shared), and has created technology for kaitiaki support services to run their own Pae Hono style websites to house monitoring and information for the communities they support.
