I am running the Rotorua Marathon to fundraise money for a comfortable space for Palliative care patients in the Rotorua Hospital
Bay of Plenty
I am an Emergency Department (ED) Nurse at the Rotorua Lakes DHB Hospital. My friends and colleagues know I am passionate about making the lives of Palliative care patients as comfortable as possible. It is close to my heart as I was by my mothers side during her journey through terminal cancer and I have had other close friends since. Mum was a runner and inspired me to be a runner, so I have decided to run the 2020 Rotorua Marathon on the 2nd of May to raise some funds to create a more comfortable space for Palliative care patients that require treatment in ED. Currently the treatment space and furniture is very "Hospital" and I would love to see a more friendly and comfortable space set up for the Palliative care patients and their carers, family and support people. Every donation will be greatly appreciated.
