Helping our son Byron move forward after being involved in a serious car crash
Tokoroa, Waikato
Note. Byron has insurance as well., this will not cover everything. We made this for friends and family that offered to help in anyway.
On Friday 28th August 2026, we received a phone call that is every parents worst nightmare.
My 18 year old son was involved in a serious car crash, where multiple vehicles were involved. The crash (while was no fault of his own) has lost everything he has worked so hard for, he worked extra hours at his part time job to save up and buy his very first car on his own.
He purchased the car less than 3 months ago and in the last week leading up to the crash, he had spent close to $700 having repairs done to the car for his warrant of fitness.
During the crash, his car was badly damaged resulting in the vehicle being written off. He also lost other expensive items he has worked hard for such as: his new iPhone, his favorite yellow Puma shoes and his favorite yellow Hunting and Fishing jacket (just to list a few things)
Byron was rushed to Middlemore Hospital with moderate injuries such as cuts to his face, ears and arms, he also has bruising on his shoulder and hip, he was also covered in petrol during the crash which also resulted in him losing most of his clothing he was wearing during the crash.
While we are thankful he is still with us, everything he has worked so hard for is gone.. as the result of someone else.
Any help would be truly appreciated and will go toward replacing such items and help him move forward.
Money will go towards a new car and replacing personal items during the crash like his cell phone, hunting and fishing jacket, shoes and other various items that were damaged/lost
