Thank you everyone for your generosity and support of my father Paul Herbert. I know that it means a lot to dad seeing how many people care. It’s always something we take for granted, that we are cared for, so to be shown it by your generous donations and kind words is a real boost for his morale. This page will close in one week but please visit https://www.facebook.com/supportpaulherbert for updates and to show your continued encouragement. Dad is still on a journey. Recently he started having his first symptoms including dizziness, nausea and lack of balance. The doctors have found that this is due to a larger tumor putting pressure on his brain. Currently the thought is the Dad will undergo another round of radiation for his brain (his third round) to target eight tumors there. In July he will have his full body scan and decide whether or not another round of drug treatment is required. Dad is unwavering in his determination and optimism. Thank you all for adding your strength to his.

Paul has his fourth and final drug treatment today. In 6 weeks time he will have another full body scan. Dad you are such a strong person, both in mind and body. Every day you amaze me. If anyone could alter their outcome through sheer force of will alone it would be you. But here's hoping the drugs have helped you along too. Thinking of you with all my heart.

  • Treatment Update

      10 March 2015

After much consideration dad (Paul Herbert) has decided to forego chemotherapy treatment, which only had a 10% success rate, in favour of moving straight ahead with the drug treatment. He has signed an agreement to have Ipilimumab, an Anti PD1 drug that boosts your immune system to fight melanoma. It demonstrates a 15 - 25% positive effect rate with an 18 month response time as well as demonstrating some crossover effects on brain metastasis. The treatment will consist of 4 intravenous infusions over 12 weeks. It will cost $188,000.00. So I ask you all to please donate to help raise funds for the treatment my dad needs and thank you so much to those of you that already have.
