My name is Paul Barclay, and I am a totally blind runner representing Achilles New Zealand. I live in Christchurch, and my goal is to run the world

Major Boston Marathon on April 20 2026 followed by the London Marathon one week later on April 26 2026. Recently I completed the New York and Berlin marathon’s with the help of two guides, an experience that inspired me to push myself further and take on the challenge of completing more world major marathons.

As a totally blind runner, I rely on two guides for both my training and the actual marathon. I’m fortunate to have chosen Tony Watson as my guide for Boston and Rosie Hay for London; we train together regularly, and I’ve known Tony since my days at Lincoln University. Rosie and Tony are dedicated volunteer guides who are generously giving up their time and taking time off work to support me on this incredible journey.

To make this goal a reality, I am seeking to fundraise enough to cover our airfares, accommodation, and any additional travel expenses. Your support by donating to our fund would be greatly appreciated!

Flight, accommodation and travel associated costs for Paul and his two guides Tony and Rosie for the trip to run the Boston and London marathons
