Welcome to the Pinehaven School Read-a thon fundraiser!
Pinehaven, Upper Hutt
Welcome to the Pinehaven School Read-a thon fundraiser! For this term's fundraiser, children will be encouraged to “Read the Shelf” and seek sponsorship to challenge themselves to read as many books as they can over four weeks! The reading challenge runs from Monday 19th of May to Friday 20th of June.
For every book your child reads they will colour in a 'book on the shelf' to show their sponsors how many books they have read. To kick things off Teachers have committed to reading 12 books in class over the four week read-a-thon. Each child will be bringing home a hard copy of a reading log, designed to show 'books on the shelf,' to keep track of the books they are reading.
On the day the form comes home your child can colour the first 12 books to show the books they will be reading in class - a great way to get them underway! Please have a discussion with your child and set a reading goal. All reading counts, individual and shared. This fundraiser also promotes reading together, shared books read together with parents and children can be counted as part of the challenge.
Mrs Blackadder, our School Librarian, is more than happy to help children choose some books to read.
Please contact the office if you have any questions about this fundraiser or if you need additional copies of the form.
Thank you so much for your support.
