The Taiao team want to provide an opportunity for Katikati people to contribute to this urban oasis project for our community.
Bay of Plenty
This project is turning Council's stormwater pond into a native wetland oasis behind the Talisman Hotel, bordering on Talisman Drive and Beach Road. The wetland features a boardwalk and native plantings and is overlooked by the Pioneers sculpture, which is dedicated to Colin and June Carlton and created in 2008 by artist Mark Hill to commemorate the towns original Irish settlers. The revamped area will offer people an opportunity to sit quietly amongst nature.
