Pirongia Skatepark

Pirongia has a proud history of independent adventurous youth offering exploration within a bike ride of the village. Sadly as our youth get older the village lacks activities for our rangitahi which sees them travelling away or losing the sense of contribution and belonging they once had as little people in our village.

We want to keep them connected and provide a place where they belong in our village.

Generations of our rangitahi, over the past 30 plus years, have been campaigning with our local council to build a skate park in our village. We have finally been successful in getting council support to enhance the community's recreational offerings by providing a dedicated space for youth engagement by building a state-of-the-art community skate park in our village.

We have the land but need to raise the funds to build it!!!

The development of a community skate park in Pirongia represents an exciting opportunity to enhance the recreational landscape of our town.
