Raising funds to buy new piupiu to honour Kaiwaka School's Kapa Haka performers.
Northland
Kia ora whanau and friends, as you know, Kaiwaka school is growing rapidly and so too is our lovely kapa haka group. This means we no longer have enough piupiu, and those we have are over 20 years old! We are keen to buy beautiful hand crafted piupiu that honour our performers mana and mahi that they put into performing. But...in order to do this we need your help to raise money to buy them. Kaiwaka School Board of Trustees has pledged half the cost and we need you, Kaiwaka Community to help raise the other half. Each dollar will make a difference, so please share this page, and donate what you can.
Nga mihi.
Kaiwaka is a small town situated 90 minutes north of Auckland and close to both the East and West Coast beaches. Kaiwaka School opened in 1870, to cater for a rural population. We now serve a diverse population with students coming from farms and lifestyle blocks and others from the township.
Kaiwaka School is a very special place. It is a happy learning community where students, staff and whanau work together to maximize student learning. Students are welcomed into our school with a powhiri. This has become a very special time as it gives both the students and their families a feeling of immediate acceptance and inclusion.
