Sandi has always been a light and a blessing to all who know her. Please can you consider giving a little to help her out a lot :)
Auckland
Our mom, Sandi, has recently been diagnosed with a really aggressive form of liver cancer that is unfortunately only treatable with very high doses of radiation therapy. Removal is not an option as it has attached itself to the portal vein. Chemo will not be effective at all, and mom has decided rather than being incredibly sick during radiation therapy, which may not be effective, she will live out her days with family near and enjoy the time she has with us.
Many of you know and love Sandi. But for those who don't, she has been a pillar in the community in which she has lived her entire adult life. She has worked for many years for the Cansa society in Johannesburg , being a mom and a carer to many many patients who have come through Keurboom interim home. She has participated in dozens of Shavathons and raised tens of thousands for cancer patients over many years.
She has never said no to a need and is one of the most encouraging and lovely people you would ever meet.
She is needing some extra help around the house and to help her get in out of the bath and general day to day tasks, and her medical insurance is not covering her pain meds and the supplements she requires (as she has very little appetite so is not getting what she needs from regular meals)
My request is for people who know mom, or who have been touched by her life and her generosity to please reach out and give a little so her and dad don't have to be worrying about money and whether they will have enough to pay for the meds she needs and the carer she is reliant on to make her life easier. And even if you don't know mom, you know me and she means the world to me. Thanks for your love and support.
Sandi is my amazing mom, who has recently been diagnosed with a very rare liver cancer. Its called an Interhepatic cholangiocarcinoma (basically a real baddie) and she needs your help
