In December Paul was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastasized cancer. Your generous help will contribute to his treatments and living costs.
Auckland
Our dear friend Paul, father to Eamonn and Freya, has metastasized colon cancer. With great boatie spirit he is leaving no waters uncharted in the exploration of ways he can build his immunity so that he can withstand and benefit from the long chemotherapy program ahead.
In December Paul underwent emergency surgery when an undetected tumor perforated his colon. It was then discovered that he had stage IV cancer and that it had already spread to his liver.
Subsequent scans have shown many more tumors and this has precluded further planned surgeries.
While recovering from the major surgery Paul has kept his wonderful spirit. He has had to give up the job that took so long to find, and which had offered security and calm sailing after some rough passages over recent years.
Now there are living expenses and the costs of consultations and treatments before embarking on the first round of extensive chemotherapy.
Paul's son, Eamonn, and daughter, Freya, are by his side. And Eamonn's girlfriend, Laura too. These young things need their Dad. Please help us generate the funds that this family desperately needs to navigate this crisis toward a future.
Paul is very dear to me and to my family and friends. We hope that, by setting up this fund, we can help in every possible way to support him through this process.
Funds will be used to support Paul's living and treatment costs during these unknown waters ahead.
