Its been 6 days since the wire was removed. unfortunately i had a nasty fall right after i had picked him up but he is fine. was just shaken a little bit.
spent the rest of the day high on anesthetic.
keeping an eye on him to make sure the eating is fine and then its a full recovery.

The wire is scheduled to be removed on the 20th of november.
we had a weight scare as he wasnt eating and was losing weight dangerously.

we are almost there recovery wise.
Had today which ended up costing $650. ouch...
He had multiple teeth removed and his jaw wired. they shaved his chin for doing the wire.
He is happy to be home again after spending the night at the vets, and the wire needs to be removed in a month and until then he is on a special diet of extremely soft food which is not cheap.
Surgery will hopefully be on tuesday 16th.
he is going stir crazy atm and since he is still so young he desperately wants to play.
Just got home from yet another vet appointment.
The eye is looking good swelling is almost gone i think and the ointment is working wonders on the infection.
also brought home more pain meds.
will hopefully be deciding on a day for surgery on monday.
hasnt lost any more weight since last check at the vet
So we are back home again, with a whole lot of prescription food. has successfully eating half a tin, yay!
unfortunately we also have new medication for the infection in the eye that he now has.
lets hope he doesnt require another trip to the vet to empty the bowels again.
So got a written estimate for the surgery today.
the original estimate i was given was accidentally based on a cat with a few problems so this one is much lower and more accurate. the cost will be between $500 - $700 which is nowhere near as bad as the original verbal estimate of $1500.
Arlo is being kept at the vet for a few hours to try help him poop as he hasnt been since before the accident and the xrays on saturday showed his bowels were full so he really needs to go.
off to the vet again in a couple hours. still hasnt pooped so vet wants to feel around and maybe give him something to help
He has a follow up appointment next friday to check his recovery and get him more pain meds.
Has had xrays and blood tests. the toe that may have needed amputation was disclocated and has been relocated back into place, yay!
unfortunately the xrays show he has a broken jaw and broken tooth that needs to be removed. the surgery required for that will be about $1200 - $1500 but the vet cant really tell us more only a rough estimate.
all his claws have been shredded as well.
he is currently being seperated from the world to try keep him calm and rested and will be on a almost liquid diet. i just hope the food comes out tasty when put through a blender otherwise its all new fancy food.
there is alot of swelling in the face and the eye is still discharging lots of blood that is requiring frequent cleaning
